So far it's excellent. My three main tasks have been 3D work (Maya), c++ development (Maya API), and web browsing..

The keyboard surpassed my expectations (coming from an Inspiron 8500), it's amazingly firm all the way across, and the back lighting is sooo handy to have..

My only complaint (and this was no different on the 8500), is the fan is on all the time, even when just sitting idle at the windows desktop..

I've been trying to figure out how to adjust the core clock speed setting for the FX 1700M, thinking that maybe if I can match it to a 770M I can loose ~15W of power consumption under heavy load..

I agree, the "sleeper" surprise of the M4400 is the keyboard. It is very firm with good travel, size and placement. The keyboard on the M4400 is much better than the keyboard on the M6400 IMHO (nevermind the sharp corners of death on the M6400)

With the decent amount of heat even the 770M produces, I would downclock the 1700M.

What do you use to tweak the core speed? The Nvidia control panel that comes with doesn't seem to expose that..
