No experience yet with the Outlet, but I agree with you. If they want to replace that much, I'd tell them to send you another complete unit all together, period.

yea, tell them bull, unless they exchange the unit for a new one, you're returning it and buying HP.

that normally makes them move their rear ends a bit

lol... I can't do that, HP doesn't seem to have anything that meets my needs (screen resolution, cpu, RAM, HD, and warranty...)

It's kind of strange - I haven't had any random lock ups after I disabled the auto brightness.

Logical to me that they should simply send me another and I return this one, because of the cost of deploying a subcontract and time to replace parts. - and they offered that, but they said I'm looking at a 10 business day turn around... What's that all about?

Refurbished with full warranty shouldnt be any different than new cause if something came broken, you can just call em up and get it fixed.

Im kinda tempted on the Dell Latitude E4300 to get one refurbished because of the nice CPU SP9300 which is really nice to have in such a unit rather than other competition which comes with weaker grade CPUs.

But I hear bad things with display issues. If I buy a refurbished E4300 and the display is bad with weird lines like reported in some purchases, would I be able to use the warranty to get the display replaced?

    good luck mate!

i've just started using my new system, since i have to return my old one tomorrow.

first thing i noticed is under the new bios the fan runs really fast all the time, which is kind of annoying. i reckon im gonna call dell tomorrow and ask them if there are any fixes for this.

also my fan is a bit noisier than the old one. maybe i'll ask them to send me a fan so i can swap it out.

other than that, things seem to be ok. i havent tested it under gaming yet, if it downclocks like my first m4400 with first motherboard, im gonna be annoyed lol
