Nope, a technician will be out to install the LCD.

I'm just trying to think what else it could be. Do you have the NVIDIA Quadro? Do you have ClearType enabled?

I think that poster may have a dedicated graphics card. I get 3.2 with the integrated Intel graphics.

Hi.I recieved my D630 today.I bought it after return Inspiron 6400 back to Dell.I returned it,because it had SAMSUNG screen with huge grain!!It was WSXGA+ screen(1680x1050).I have still next to my D630 friends Inspiron 6400 with this bad screen and it is like day and night.
I have in my D630 Chimei LCD panel.Yes,it is little bit grainy, but nothing bad.It has nice colours, contrast(for todays laptop TN displays)so,it is nice for me!I believe, that AUO sreens are a bit cleaner, and maybe brighter, but CMO panel is really good stuff for this laptop.
I also tried 3DMark 05 and with original Vista instalation dells driver I have 1900 points at defaul settings.
Sorry about my english, but I would like to say only, that Chimei LCD panel is not bad.
