6 hours is a bit of an over estimate, I can get about 4-4.5 hours off of my 6 cell with the brightness down 5 notches, wireless on, and working with Firefox / Word sort of stuff. I've got the media bay battery as well, and Vista estimates about 10 hours of life with the same usage / settings, but I haven't done any actual tests. It's a long time.

I dont think the travel lite module has any electronics....I can't justify spending tht sort of money on an item tht only allows you to save a few grams. Its not like you can feel >200g....which incidentally is the weight difference between the 9 cell and 6 cell battery.

The good thing about the 9 cell battery, it makes the laptop a lot more balanced. With my other notebooks, there is a constant "fear" that it might tip over if you are using it on your lap.

This machine is just amazing. No programs have crashed, Vista has not crashed, temperatures are low, and very quiet system.

Dell has done well with this system.

Anyway....now I see that Windows Update has an option to upgrade the Quadro 135M Drivers. I'm still using the .143 version. Which one is better? Has anyone upgraded automatically to the Windows Update drivers?

    Best,
    Ilham

Just bought mine, but i turned out DEFECTIVE !

It had a PATCH on the screen running from TOP to BOTTOM 5cms wide on the extreme right hand of the screen - REVOLTING !!

...and it was straight out of the box.

What ever happened to DELL QUALITY CONTROL ?!

Waiting for the replacement - still think it is a good laptop.

Maverick27. are you using Vista? with the sidebar? IF you are, it means it the sidebar. Try removing the sidebar and see if its still there. DELL is currently rushing thier production of units. Even for myself this is my 2nd replacement unit with an engineer onsite changing my base twice due to some issues. As long as you have the warranty on from DELL. There's nothing to worry about.
