Out of the box it should run really cool, second that when charging battery it'll get a tad warmer and always incredibly silent.

When upgrading to A03 Bios noticed, finally, the fan working for a few minutes - that was the event of the month, as usually sits there idle ;)

All in all, an incredible machine - miss only an integrated webcam.

In that case there is definately something wrong. I get to struggle with dell now because their solution of replacing the heatsink and hard drive in a brand new laptop that was less than 4 days old is completely unacceptable.

A replacement of that laptop, production from scratch, takes no longer than one week to make it to your door.

If their suggestion is unacceptable to you, then suggest a full replacement or inform them that failure in their providing a full replacement may cause a full return of the whole system. You can turn it back completely free of charge.

    Best of luck.

Well that is the struggle. They are refusing a full replacement because the problem "is easily identifiable and fixable" according to them. Their options are to replace those parts, or replace it with a refurbished system. The 2nd one isnt even a viable option, and the first option,w ell I just can't see replacing parts ona system that was less than 5 days old

I'd suggest you point your view directly to Customer Support.

Make sure they understand that failure on them to provide you a replacement system then you're interested in returning your machine for a full credit back.

You have 30 days to send back that system which should give you ample time to order a new one if they're unwilling to immediately issue you a replacement order.

One way or the other you have a laptop with you until the whole issue gets sorted out.

    Best of luck.

jcuro--Are you in the United States?

If so, as pb9997 says, you have the option to return your notebook to Dell within 30 days for a full refund. If they won't give you a NEW replacement notebook, I'd think about exercising that option.

Yea I am in the U.S.

The problem is that this is a replacement of a replacement, and it is outside the 30 days. However, the reason it is outside of 30 days is due to their poor quality. Trust me I'm not the type of person who would accept their pathetic reasoning and explanations.

I'm on the phone with a "supervisor" right now who claims he has worked for Dell for 4 years and the heat problem is in ALL D630's, not just mine...very, very frustrating
