problem guys, the heatsink for the GPU has no air going to it or from it!!!!!

if you give me ur email ill send you a pic. its completely fanless. i think by opening it up and doing things wit it, i may have f-d it up a bit.

my games stutter at high temps. is that due to throttling? if so anyway to shut it off.

It's good to see that the 135m has some flexibility to it.

You're right - aside from the higher scores on the WEI, the heat seems to be the same as it was before. ntune has definitely been worth looking into.

I'm looking for two program recommendations here:

Overclocking software that will set two seperate profiles, one for on battery and another for plugged in. I want insanely high clock frequencies like those people are reporting, but I want the lower frequencies for while on battery so I get better battery life.

Second, I'm also looking for temperature and fan control software for Vista x64, because I8KfanGUI is for x86 only...so anyone else have any recommendations?

This is as "hot" as i'm willing to push it for now. I will keep them at this setting (600/851) for a while and see the stability/performance long term.

OK, what am I doing wrong? I downloaded Ntune from nvidia.com, ver 5.05.

Installed. When I run it, it's just the nVidia control panel. There are no options for overclocking, etc. I have nvidia monitor, too, and it loads fine, although most of the information in it seems either missing or inaccurate.

The path for my ntune shortcut is actually in system32 and points to the nvidia control panel.

    Help!

    thanks!

Perhaps overclocking to 600/851 might kill it eventually, but if a cooling pad was bought for it, wouldn't that extend the life and stability of the card?

I've propped my 1420 up on a book in the back so it's now getting much better airflow and my CPU temps are running around 36-38C. Should this increased airflow help the GPU as well, even if there is no direct fan for it? OCing it sounds great, but I worry too about longevity of my machine...
