Vostro 1400 overclocking, its crazy.

    So does the 8400 GS in the Vostro 1400 have GDDR3 or DDR2 ram?

    think for yourself..
    there's no DDR2 witch can run at least 2x700mhz so it HAS TO BE DDR3. ;)

    btw. some ppl are trying to do a CPU MOD on T5470 to make muliplier higher than 8 :)
    so there is hope that users of T5470 after some integration into CPU could have 2ghz on the clock ;)

    Has anyone tested battery life after overclocking? Is the decrease significant?

    What drivers are you using to overclock? Mine keep resetting to the stock speeds with ATITool and Ntune

    IM using XP and using the default Dell drivers found on their website.

    What graphics driver r u guys using? I have HP dv2500 with NV 8400M GS 64MB :( of course.. and no driver except hp from web is working.. Thanx..

    Hi, so this is all about Dell vostro.. but Hp dv2500 look better.. :) and has the same graphics.. (only 64MB DDR3 ram :( ) My results..

    Windows Vista Experience Index for gaming 5,0 (600/800)

    3D Mark 2001 SE (Graphics driver from HP, NTune 5.05.47.00)
    core/memory

    400/600 12547 points
    500/700 14402 points
    600/800 16001 points

    No artefacts.. (Intel 7100,2GB RAM)

    Good notebook but FAN is always running also after Bios upgrade to F.13
    however cpu temp is only 36 C .. PLS let me know if you have solution..

    ..aaand do you have 400/500 base clocks on Vostro 1400? I have 400/600 on that HP.. I just tried the HP (nor really optimized) driver, and "only" 600/800 but Ntune allow me 800/1100 so I expecting a lot of funn...:) .. No voltage change, no Artic silver or Sahara gold :)..
