Vostro 1400 overclocking, its crazy.

    Maybe someone could go to the local radioshack and pick up el cheappo infrared thermometer, take temperature readings of the different parts and compare them with what the programs say?

    i really dont wanna spend 40 bucks for a cooling pad.... i dont want a cooling pad. Dont get me wrong though Zero, i think its a great idea, i just dont really want to buy a laptop and then have to have a cooling pad for it.

    That looks like a pretty good deal for a cooler.

    The reason I was sort of considering one was so it would be more comfortable to use in my lap :) though i dont know how well that one would work in my lap...

    my laptop idles fine, just when i overclock and game lol thats whne it goes higher in temperatures.

    i was thinking bout that cooler, since i spent money on arctic silver and thermal pads im holding myself off.

    im gonna buy copper soon, and make a shim since copper takes in heat fairly well.

    i just have the cooler for when its sitting at home, i don't bring it with me. when i am mobile i wont be overclocked anyways. so the cooling pad doesnt bother me.

    Sorry if this has been stated, I dont feel like reading the whole novel this thread has turned into right now, basically your way too far OC'd, your 3d mark scores are a result of your card throttling down to keep from burning itself up, COD2 in DX7 wont really stress your card much, so theres is no degrading of performance there, though I bet any semi modern title at full DX9 would bring the card to a snails pace at those clocks. Lower your clocks.

    when does the card throttle!! at what temperature? does anyone know or does the Nvidia website state it?
