I have two 210w PSUs, one on the replicator in my office and one next to the sofa - both are left on all day. I have had no problems with either in the 4 months. Hardly statistically significant, but they are guaranteed so I wouldn't worry about it overly.

Basic advice with any PSU - don't turn them on and off more than you need to, and make sure they have some level of ventilation available.

New adventure...listen to this new issue and If anybody knows something please advise...before I send the laptop back to mamma.

I initially bought 8GB RAM 1066Mhz with XMP technology from intel so I could play with the latency timings. Which is impossible due to the fact that in order to do it the Bios must support and show the RAM parameters.Dell locks these things to avoid tech problems and ensure warranty, thus the memory remains at the standard 7-7-7-20 latency. (well, it is actually the same logic with the issue the processor QX9300 has with the XTU utility from Intel, cannot overclock it with current Dell BIOS.)
So I brought them back and received those that have lower latency by 'default' (5-5-5-15).And here is the problem: If I put all four banks 2x4GB the M6400 will not boot at all, starts and before go to Bios screen turns off, with CapsLock/NumLock and ScrollLock indicators blinking! If Iput 2 banks 2x2GB, the system freezes to windows logo (I use Win XP Pro). And the irony: If I use the older memory (which is 7-7-7-20) or at least 1 of the older and all the rest of the system works fine!

    This is insane.

No kidding...that the M6400 does not support 5-5-5-15 latency! Nowhere is written. The pins are the same, the volts are the same, the A+C, B+D slot peculiarity is correctly set...any suggestions?

Yes AirBlazer, I have the A07. I will bring it to service tomorrow and see whats up. There's something with the latency going on. The previous 4x2gb XMP's i had, were all installed and had been seeing normally by the system although were giving me only 7-7-7-20 latencies.

hey cysplatin i am also in the same boat what games are you playing, i use my m6400 to run auto cad revit Photoshop, and on my gaming side i play prototype (works well but recently video has been lagging) , batman arkham asylum (stop playing lag lag lag), resident evil (not to bad some lagging) i also played need for speed (lag at first but a lot better since i upgraded drivers) now as far as drivers i have been upgrading and removing drivers for the past month first the physx driver - i thought it was supposed to boost performance but definitely not on for this rig, ive been scanning the forums pretty regularly - one note i see is desktop modified drivers are supposed to be better than nvidia drivers i might try that next hoping someone can confirm this is true.

The desktop driver improved the performance? That is worth a shot for sure.

Do you know where they got these modified drivers?

    Thanks,
    Cysplatin

I gave the drivers a try, and during installation a error showed up saying that it could not find the specific driver for my system. In the description from the site though, my 2700m was a card listed as supported. I tried the modded inf file and that didn't allow the installation to proceed either. I may have done the mod incorrectly, but I included all the things that my system had.
