Not sure where you are getting your information from but it is wrong as we currently have no parts issues with GFX cards or the IPS RGB panel. I'm the Product Manager for the M4600 and we currently are building and shipping with all 3 GFX solutions and with the IPS RGB panel on the M4600. If for some reason something was removed from the web store in your region than I will work to get this corrected.

If you are truly the product manager, please explain the following e-mail that I received yesterday? I was supposed to receive my laptop on June 30th. Instead, I got this e-mail, yesterday, and upon speaking with someone in sales was told that there was a video card shortage, after that person contacted whoever does the producing when a product is "In Production" :

Again, I'm sorry for your delay but just to be clear, there is no parts shortage of GFX cards or the IPS RGB panel. There might be some minor parts that are running a bit low due to high demand but all major parts are in stock and shipping.

    Dell-Mano_G,
I'm also experiencing the same delay here in Hong Kong. In the past, Dell China delivered desktops or notebooks within 3 to 4 days. I ordered my M4600 last Fri (June 24). Now its status is still WIP. Please help. Thanks.

There is no delay you just ordered 5 days ago and need to wait . I know some people on here have been waiting over one month for the M4600 and M6600 models and those are the people that should be worried if not upset.

Well, I don't know what minor parts are running low, because the only way my M4600 differs from the stock M4600 is by its 2000M graphics card and the IPS RGB panel. So, if both items are in stock, you guys should have shipped the laptop yesterday. If my laptop cannot be shipped for another week, than no (stock) M4600 which uses the same dang "minor parts" can be assembled / shipped in a timely manner, unless of course there is a GFX card and/or IPS RGB panel shortage after all and the production department is not communicating it to the sales / management departments, because you guys are not asking explicitly. I mean what exactly are minor parts? Are you guys out of 2GB memory modules? Keyboards? Why not actually contact the production department and give us the precise authoritative answer on why US manufactured M4600s that should have shipped this week are being delayed a week?

    Hello,

Good to have here a Dell specialist online. Can you tell us how the IPS display works to show different gamuts like small sRGB standard gamut? I am interested in the IPS display - but fear to have a bad sRGB solution for standard applications like internet. There should be a Dell sw solution to handle it. Maybe you have some deltaE values - how good it work?

I would be very happy about an accurate answer. I know that the WLed FHD display is excellent reg. sRGB. This workstation would be my working place on many places - only at home i have a dedicated High-End desktop monitor too.

    Many Thanks, Walter

Hopefully Dell can figure out what's going on with the battery life.

Sandy Bridges right out of the gate with equivalent gpu's or greater are getting far, and I mean FAR better battery life.

Hi, I would really appreciate if you can clarify something for me. I have been looking into the possibility of configuring a M4600 with FirePro M5950 and IPS panel together. I remembered when the machine was first launched such combination was allowed, but for the past 3 weeks or so the Dell webside has been insisting that for upgrading to a IPS panel the Quadro 2000M option is required. Could you please shed some light on this issue? Is there some hardware compatibility considerations such that the above combination is no longer valid, or is it simply another web configurer error? TIA for your time.
