Revo Uninstaller may help. Also, there are some good registry cleaners that can find left-over bits that may be hanging around unwanted. Of course, make sure to back up your registry before performing such surgery.

Hi, I'm interested in purchasing M4600 but I'm a little puzzled by battery choices. I was considering getting the 6-cell battery to save some weight when carrying the laptop around, so here are some questions to those who already own this computer:

    1. What is the weight of the 6-cell, 9-cell (97Wh) and 9-cell (87WH) batteries respectively?
    2. Any owners of the 6-cell and 9-cell (87WH) batteries could give their battery times?
    3. M4600 users report 2.5-3.5 hours while M6600 users report more than 5 hours of battery time, even under not so light use (both with the 9-cell one). How is this possible? Is M4600 bios buggy or what?

So if the weight difference is unimportant and if battery time with the 6-cell is ridiculous (like under 1 hour) I might be forced to get one of the 9-cell batteries. If not I'd really rather get the 6-cell one.

Thanks in advance for your input.

    Hi,

does that mean that the Nvidia is not powered? That would be a big bonus if traveling to save power...

Get this - Dell is all out of (M4600) video cards (All three video cards!) and my M4600 build is on hold waiting for an Nvidia 2000M to be back in stock...

No, that means that the M6600 does not support IPS at the moment, and the M4600 does! M6600 can use Optimus, M4600 cannot with an IPS panel. There's your battery life difference...

I've just been told that the IPS RGB panel has been EOL'd. They won't be marketing or selling it anymore (at least here in the UK).

I´m having problem to adjust the brightness with Fn + arrow up, arrow down in windows 7 enviro, but it works before entering windows at startup.

I have Windows Pro 7 64, does anyone have the same problem?
