That's the Dell ControlPoint System Manager
You'll be able to find it in the driver download section on Dell website.
    Release n° 1.6.00000, A18. ;)

So, I'm getting 4 GB of RAM with my M4600. I was thinking of moving them to the front two slots and getting 8 GB more to put into the rear two slots. What kind of RAM (from Amazon or Newegg) would be compatible with the 4GB that's already included, so that I can upgrade it to 12 GB, by adding eight more gigs (i.e., two 4 GB modules).

Thanks Philip! Oddly enough The Dell site is currently listing no downloads for the M4600. I must have downloaded it, but there must have been an error. I cannot find to uninstall to reinstall even the older one.

I did this on my M6600. I got this:
    Newegg.com - Patriot Signature 8GB (2 x 4GB) 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Laptop Memory Model PSD38G1600SK
moved the 2x2GB 1333MHz RAM that came with the laptop to the two slots under the keyboard, stuck the 2x4GB 1600MHz in the other two slots, and it's showing up and appearing to work fine according to the CPU usage gadget on my desktop. Although I don't think I've had more than 7GB or so in use yet.

@Maxh I did the exact same thing, only thing it downclocks all the mem to 1333.

I suspected it'd do that and I plan on swapping out the 2x2GB 1333 with 2x4GB 1600 at some point for 16GB total. Until then, from what I've read, it sounds like the down clocking shouldn't really be noticeable in use anyways. I guess that means when it's running at 1600MHz the difference will also be negligible, but then again so was the price difference...

Correct. I do not think you should be able to see a difference really from 1333 to 1600 but like you I am ordering another 2x4GB 1600 just so I have a complete set :)

I have a fairly high end Precision M4600 if anyone has any questions. So far I really enjoy it. It's a bit of a beast to sit on the couch with, but when I'm at work and it is in a docking station I can't tell I'm working on a laptop.

    2720QM, Quadro 2000M, IPS, 16GB 1600mhz RAM, 256GB SATA3 SSD

I have this laptop for about two weeks. Everytime I come home from work I just get shocked by the quality of the IPS display. It is TRULY eye candy. If you are toying around with several options I would sacrifice as many options as possible to have this screen. The 300+ dollars is worth it. It beats my U2711.

I am trying to uninstall and reinstall the Dell ControlPoint System Manager. Presently it cannot be used or found. Though when I try to install it, it says the Newer one must be Uninstalled first.

It is not listed in the Programs and Features to Uninstall. I want to reinstall to get the IPS Control Panel. I have swapped out the stock drive for a SSD. Can anyone help? Thank you.
