A last tips for the day : if you use x64 Os and vmware workstation, you could not virtualize 32 bits os (windows xp classic, vista 32). You must virtualize only 64bits OS. That a big constraint about vmware workstation that a llittle of people know. And virtualize XP64 and vista64 guest requiert many resources (cause each VM need 2 cores !!!).

As far as I know the above is False. You CAN run 32 bit OS in VMware Workstation on a 64 bit OS. The opposite, however is not possible.;)

The DVD-ROM is removable ?, I am thinking to use a Hard Drive E-Module installed inside the Notebook and use the DVD-ROM externally with the external E-Modular Bay, any experience ?, thanks

Hi, I have to do a lot of Video conversions, from AVI to MP4 or MP2 to MP4, etc., what is better the M4400 or the M6400 ?, I think having 2 HDs in RAID 0 would be much faster ???

Also which CPU would be more efficient, the 3Ghz Duo with 6MB Cache or the 2.53 Quad with 12MB Cache ?

    Thanks a lot,

For your purposes, it is all about the CPU, with the same CPU, it wouldn't really matter which laptop you got.

I doubt that your conversion program is multi-threaded, so the Duo would likely work faster for you.

Several users have posted concerns of the M4400 "downclocking" due to excessive heat. Some posted that Dell replaced their system and the problem seemed to be resolved.

Has anyone ordered an M4400 system with the QX9300 Quad Core and Quadro 770m GPU in the last 10 days or so and checked to see if the overheating is still an issue?

I plan to order this exact system soon, so any insight would be greatly appreciated!
