Precision M4400 Owner's Lounge

Don't hold your breathe about the fingerprint reader and Windows 7. Basically, all M4400's ship with a Broadcom device which locks down access to, amongst other things, the fingerprint reader.

It works with the Embassy Wave Suite software that Dell provides, but won't work with Windows 7's built-in functionality or UPEK or Authentec's Windows 7 software.

Can anyone tell me if this has a 2.0 mp cam or a 1.3.

Yeah, I know but, when I spoke to customer support they said 1.3... so I was just wondering if anyone actually really knew...

because it also says this in the specs "1 313-6830 Integrated webcam with microphone for Mobile Precision 4400 $0.00"

Also, this has a displayport correct? Not a mini-displayport?

Those two adapters would be a waste if it has a mini displayport.

hmm i dint realise they're shipping them with 2mp cams now. i bought mine soon after the m4400 was launched so i think i just have the VGA cam. wonder if its possible to upgrade or if its even worth upgrading
