And the issues have been present from the start too?
If not, when did this start?

As I said earlier I don't use the laptop to play games, but a week ago my brother passed me Sillent Hill V and I wanted to give it a try on my M4400 . Then the overheating problem arised. I didn't use programs that stressed even a bit the graphics card before (appart from the chess game of Win Vista, LOL), so the temps were normal always( 55Celsius degrees for the graphics card and 29 for the two cores according to HWMonitor ). When I execute the game, the fan starts to spin at max speed almost immediately and after 15-20 minutes the framedrop occurs. Processor also gets very hot by the way while playing (around 75 degrees) but not as much as the graphics chip.

Ok, i'd definetly have Dell look at it, the temps you have shouldn't cause any issues. If i have the newer BIOS versions, A13 and A14, my max GPU is also around 86-87c but i can play with the same framerate for hours. Also the CPU temps isn't worrying, should be fine so there's something else wrong.
The fact that the test don't immediatly show anything doesn't really mean that much. Next time Dell asks you to do this tell them you already have and nothing was found but you still have a problem and they simply need to fix it, if that means replacing the mobo, so be it. If it isn't fixed after 3 tries ask for a replacement system. They have to give in to that if they can't fix an issue causing you to not be able to use the system for things it should be easily able too handle.
Also don't take any "it's not built for gaming" remarks from Dell...it might not be built for it but it still should be able too handle it

Is it just me or is there no longer a "search this thread" option?

Yeah, it seems not, which is a shame when there are x hundred pages per thread @@

However, if you use the Google site search, just include the thread name, e.g.

    Code:
heat problems "Precision M4400 Owner's Lounge"
It's not perfect, but it helps to narrow things down.

The Corsair looks really nice, and was what I was originally considering. After a 'lot' of reading I found the following site which revealed (to me at least) quite a bit about SSD performance.

    http://www.anandtech.com/storage/showdoc.aspx?i=3531&p=1

After reading anandtech's dissertation, I decided to pick up the Intel X25-m which was a bit cheaper through Newegg than the Corsair S128. I'll be putting mine in my new m6400 as the boot/apps drive (with a 500 7200.4 HDD as a storage drive), so the 30% lower capacity doesn't bother me. If storage was a must, I probably go for the OCZ Vertex. The Corsair is reportedly very stable straight out of the box, but there is little to no report of random read/write performance which is what makes me a bit leary.

All of the Dell reps I have talked to on the phone tell me that the RGB-LED with Trulife is an antiglare coating, and they even volunteered that it could be used outside without my asking. However, online sources (like these forums) suggest that the screen is glossy. Can anyone provide any enlightenment on this issue?

Also, if someone has the RGB-LED screen, would you mind taking some photos of it outside in direct sunlight? Please be sure to capture the worst glare and the least glare on the screen.
