What do you mean as a delay? Delay in parts?

No I was meaning delay with the M4500 being released, the M6400 was released a couple of months after the M2400/4400 yet the refreshed M6500 has been available to order for a month or so.Therefore, I'm assuming the M4500 [and latitudes] are getting full redesigns, rather than just a motherboard/GPU refresh like the 17" has.

I have to disagree here, as according to another post (http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=447675) the new model numbers are E6410, E6510, E4310, etc--which indicates to me that they will be refreshes. It wouldn't make sense to redesign and engineer an entirely new chassis.

I have no inside information, but I have to believe Dell will introduce their M4500 very soon. However, it seems like Dell typically keeps specs to themselves until they are actually available to be ordered on their website. (I'm sure there have been exceptions though). So while HP has announced their 8540w, you can't order it and we don't don't know how long we have to wait. The point being that Dell isn't as far behind as it appears especially since the W510 orders are all delayed "by more than 4 weeks". Still, I'm anxiously waiting too.

Also, I'm expecting the M4500 to be 16:9. Lenovo claimed that they could only hold onto 16:10 in their 14" and 17" screens. The 8540w is also 16:9 so it would be quite surprising to see the M4500 hold onto 16:10. If this is true, then the M4500 will have a new chassis to accommodate the new dimensions.

I hope you are correct, but seriously doubt it.
They also never refreshed the M70/D810, before replacing them with a completely redesigned M65/D820 and from memory had a shorter life cycle than the current series has.Plus there wasn't this giant hurry we currently have to get everything into 16:9 aspect.

If you need a notebook now, buy the M6500, where I live, it's hellishly expensive and could never bring myself to spend that much on a pc, but if your in the US, its a no brainer imho.....it's just a better notebook if you don't mind a bit of extra weight and size, and even then it does remarkably well for a very powerful 17" with a three spindle design....I'd love one personally :)

Hi, new M4400 owner, with problem with notebook hard hanging.

Machine has Win7 Ult x64, 8GB RAM, Q9300, SSD, camera, fingerprint, GSM, etc.

The machine is two days old, and has hanged twice.
When hanging it is completely stuck, fans keep running, no mouse move, no chassis lights change.
Have to hold power to reset.

Any ideas where to start looking?

    Regards
    P.
