njs8384, thanks again for the help. Yes, I'm running the A11 version of the BIOS.

I agree I would prefere not having to change the hard drive because I'm already all configured. But I think it may be a good idea to "lost" a day reinstalling everything and then having a laptop I fully like! I'll think about it..

Now I have this problem that the fan is sometimes on for a long period of time. An it makes a lot of noise!! And I'm not doing any photoshop or things like that. I'm just listening to music and browsing the web!

My M2400 is docked, and I heard this may be the problem. But hey, I want it docked!

I'm thinking about returning it and buying a Thinkpad T400 instead now!

If I remember correctly, I read there was a trick to "reset" the fan when it's running, using the Function key or something.. Anyone can help me with this one?

A03 seems to fix the "full speed" fan noise that was triggered too often, but my fan is still making way too much noise! At work I have a hp nc6320 and you can't hear it at all.

It is not disk, I have it in my external case (exactly same model) and it is very quiet it vibrate a bit but it is quiet. High pith noise is coming from CPU.

You're probably right, but I don't understand how a CPU can make noise? It has no moving part...

If the noise is coming from the CPU, then it's probably caused by the power switching states.
