Does anyone know which chips the M2400 has:

    - ICH7R/DH SATA RAID Controller
    - ICH7MDH SATA RAID Controller
    - ICH8R/ICH9R/ICH10R SATA RAID Controller
    - ICH8M-E/ICH9M-E SATA RAID Controller

I tried the last in the list but after a few hours of working got a blue screen of death relating to iaStor.sys :(

I installed Vista 64bit from XP 64 bit and now every time I want to connect to the internet (through wireless), I have to turn my modem off and turn it back on. It was fine with XP.

Its a Siemens modem/router from Telus.

    Any ideas?

    Hello.
I'm thinking to buy M2400 but I have one question. Did anyone try to connect this notebook to 30-inch monitor over display port. Does it hold 2560x1600 resolution ?

    Drivers from here: http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=21753&st=0

I've switched back to Vista 32bit due to some issues with the Intel wireless drivers. These 180.44 drivers offer the CUDA functionality for the card--I didn't think it could do that. I haven't played around with it any, but I'm suspecting that 3dMark was using the card for some of the physics stuff during the benchmark. I'm going to turn it off and try again.

I'm happy to see that the drivers are almost on par with the ones released by Dell. I'm starting to suspect that nVidia might have "tweaked" the Dell drivers to give better results: For one thing, the lowest clock on the Dell drivers is ~150Mhz. With any other driver, it is 250Mhz. RMClock doesn't show any extra draw from the battery, but every little bit counts in terms of battery life.

One thing missing from these drivers that the other (non-Dell) drivers had an issue with was studdering. Minimizing and maximizing windows would cause them the studder and skip--like the framerate was really low. That effect is now gone.

It's hard to believe the 3dmark06 scores are that low....am I reading something wrong?

EDIT: I guess that's about right for that card....but, takes me out of the hunt though....

    I just ordered my M2400!

Thanks to everybody on notebookreview.com who helped me made my choice! :)

My rep has been really kind and helpful. If you need to talk to someone who speak both french and english at Dell, I suggest you talk to James MacMillan.

I can't wait for the laptop to arrive now!
