Anyone actually try this? As far as I know, it is for accessing wireless/NFC smartcards only (not other NFC applications).

I've tried that... For example, on your phone (Samsung S6 Edge in my case) open some webpage, place phone on the palmrest, then there is this specific sound and phone is asking for confirmation to share content, confirm it and on the laptop same webpage opens in the default browser.

Cool... I'll have to play with it, wonder if it also works on older models that have the wireless NFC reader. My phone is too old :p

FYI and hope this isn't old news
    1. The 7510 took 64gb G.Skill 2666 (shows as 2667). Initially it did have a post issue (one white and two orange blinks) but a hard power off and on cleared it up.

    2. The Nvidia M2000M supports at least three digital monitors. I had two 1440P monitors and one 1650x1050 (the two DisplayPorts on the e-port dock and one mini-displayport on the side of the laptop). The first time I hooked it up the third monitor into the mini-displayport I had to do a "Detect" but then worked fine afterwards.

I ordered the unit with the i5-6300, TB3, FHD non-touch, and Ubuntu. Once delayed already, and now hanging in limbo as an "invalid configuration," according to a rep. Online I'm listed as in-production, with a delivery date of 3/15 (today is 3/14).

I see that the online configurator no longer lists Ubuntu as an option. I'm confused about what's going on, and no rep of the 4 I was patched to could give me a definitive answer. One said it was "cancelling," another said it would ship eventually, another said it had already shipped, and another didn't know. I kid you not.

One rep was able to give me a part number, G451F, that was the hang up, and said it looked like Ubuntu and the Quadro M1000M was the invalid combo. But I can't find reference to that online.

As it stands I'll try again tomorrow. Oh joy.

I think they were having issues with the factory Ubuntu image related to the 8260 Wifi driver, so they ended up pulling it as a configuration option and delaying any order that was configured with Ubuntu.

Where did you hear this? I wonder if they'll just ship anyway as an override request.

edit: I'm seeing references online to problems getting bluetooth working on the 8260 under Ubuntu. The obvious solution would be to delete the 8260 from the order and install one myself once I get it.

Thanks for the heads up, very useful.

I did figure out fast boot to have it show up after the fact, by after new mother board and two other calls I returned it for a refund and placed a new order for same specs. I have to admit I love the 5510 more than 7510 but both good computers

I just received my 7510 today.

On first boot, the M1000M showed up in device manager. I did a reboot and the M1000M no longer shows up.

I tried the suggestion to set fast boot to minimal but my M1000M is still not showing up.

    Does anyone have any suggestions?

@bee144 Hmm. It is a bit different in that your quadro was seen initially where Mustang and I didn't see ours at all. I spent long time trying many different things attempting to get the quadro to be recognized. I continued using the laptop (changing various seemingly trivial BIOS settings to my likeing such as keyboard backlight timeout etc then continuing to run window updates, Intel driver updates, blah blah). Ie. The fastboot may have been only part of the solution/equation. A few other steps that both @MustangChris04 and I did, we both (from desperation) disabled Optimas in BIOS. Which will end up preventing you from having ANY monitor or display ability if the dGPU is not discoverable... Forcing us to then remove both the main battery and the CMOS battery (followed by 15second long press of power button to discharge). That will reset your BIOS. Then switching fast boot to minimal.

First check (since it was appearing on first boot) your Nvidia driver wasn't accidentally removed somehow. Could try reinstalling but if dGPU truly isn't seen then driver will stubbornly say that necessary hardware is missing (mine driver I'm using is from Dell website version 354... if I recall. I can check tomorrow to be certain... Typing from phone at moment).

Else could call proSupport. I would recommend chat typing with proSupport actually as it is more concise when communicating, plus you get a transcribed record detailing your interaction with support.

Congrats on your new system and wish it gets better soon
