Is it possible to get the 7510 with the Intel 18260 WiGig card? I only see the 8260 on the regular ordering page.

Is there any technical reason why it shouldn't be possible to purchase a 7510 with 1080p IPS panel now and replace that down the road with the Sharp IGZO panel with the same ribbon cable and bezel? I have been an HP nc- series and Thinkpad guy the last several years, but my perusal of the Dell forums suggests that panel swaps in Dell mobile workstations has been pretty common over the generations.

Nice! I saw that coupon too. I wish they had one for the 7710 which I'm preparing to get. I keep looking out for a good coupon before I pull the trigger. Actually, wishing I could find a 20% or more coupon for these machines. :)

btw, for others interest: coupon code for $200 USD off 7510 precision (through March 3 2016) is: WKS200

*edit: I just found a pretty good percentage off coupon for precisions. But when I applied it in my shop cart, the default 30% discount was removed. It wasn't stackable with the default discount. But if we can find a 40%+ off coupon, that would be greatt.

    Hi everyone,

My 7510 arrived today (ordered on smb site 2/11) and it came without usb 3.1 port. What's going on?:(. To me, that's something I have to return it form.

My q is: when can we be sure that 7510 will come with usb 3.1 and thunderbolt port?

    TIA

Was USB Type-C and/or Thunderbolt 3 actually listed on your order confirmation, or did you assume the 7510 would have these?

I suppose assume as I didn't see any options to select or unselect either on the dell pages when I ordered. I also checked few youtube and notebook review pics and all showed usb 3.1 port

7510 and 7710 have Thunderbolt/USB 3.1 available but only as a separate option that you must configure during purchase. The option is available now but has not been available for very long (less than a week?). You will probably have to return your system and buy a new one with the Thunderbolt option selected.

well. damn, you are right. I can see the thunderbolt now: Intel Core i7-6820HQ with Smart Card and Thunderbolt 3 [Included in Price]

still nothing on usb 3.1 (unless that's shared with thunderbolt)? i dont want to assume anything anymore. also, any idea why I have to have smart card reader for extra $19? surely they can fit that spot with something useful

All Thunderbolt 3 ports are also USB 3.1 ports.
(The reverse is not necessarily true.)
If you buy the system with Thunderbolt you will also get the USB 3.1 port.

No idea why the smartcard reader is required in some configurations... Doesn't make any sense to me.
