Precision 7510 Owner's Thread

Then you did in fact more than the seller can ask for. For myself, my time happens to be valuable, clearly much more so than the time of a certain poster in here.

If I started spending just a few hours of my time on troubleshooting a computer that I just bought brand-new and in supposedly good working order, I'd be better off just throwing the malfunctioning product in the trash and simply buy another one. Of course, I will not do this; if I receive a product that malfunctions out of the box, then I'll be damned if I spend even five minutes trying to figure out why it doesn't work. Frankly, I don't give a rat's behind. I'll tell my assistant to send it back.

 

Has anyone had issues driving 4k display P2715Q or similar with the Precision 7510 via an E-Port Dock? At 30Hz and 60Hz I get screen going black and flickering. When I drive same display from a Latitude 6430 on same dock it works fine.

 

I was wondering if the 7510 has an option to use A/C only instead of charging the battery. I had this option on my old XPS15. On older laptop that didn't have this option, I removed the battery so it doesn't continue charging.

 

Well, in the BIOS there is "Primary Battery Configuration" which you could set to "Primarily AC use".

Also, there's an option called "Advanced Battery Charge Configuration" which I'm not sure what it does...

 

I saw that in the BIOS also but trying to see if there other options instead of changing it the BIOS each time. Thanks

Well we're 24 hours away from finding out if the 2/18 date comes true for the TB3 models. Crossing my fingers....

 

For my Alienware technician was able to get that fixed, the other competitor Unisys dell technician was supposed to fix 7510 but fedex wouldn't allow him to pick up the parts since he's a subcontractor to Unisys so maybe tomorrow

This is a newbie question (I haven't deal with 4 slots RAM before). To be able to have dual channel, I read online that we should be installing 1 stick to slot 1 and 1 stick to slot 3? I looked in the owner manual and it just says "primary" and "secondary". Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
