I told you. Did you verify card presence under Linux as I have asked you? Put your lspci output, please. I am almost sure you have software not hardware problem.

    $100 that doesn't solve anything. It's a faulty MB.

It could be, but there are only two way to verify: replacing $1000 motherboard with CPU and graphic card or using $5 pen drive to start Live USB Linux.

Do you see what I mean?

It's Dell paying for the MB so no worries for Jason.

His 7510 arrived from the factory like this. If this was a software issue, then everyone would be having this issue. It's a one off failed MB.

Are you kidding, you egoist? We are all going to pay for this motherboard. Dell is not charity organisation yet.

I had been IT engineer, so I hate users who do not see difference between software and hardware issues, especially that it is easy to verify reason.

Do you have any idea how economy works? If some incompetent users would call for motherboard replacement instead of software verification, Dell will rise their price in the future. It is company not a charity, so they want to make money.

karman, this is my opinion: not everyone who uses workstation is IT professional. It is Dell responsible to assure that their products are functional for the end users. Some of us do not have the time or skill sets to address what, how, why certain items we ordered are not appearing. For Jason case, it costed him and also the IT time and still couldn't figure out what the problem is. This should have been checked and addressed prior to delivering.

You are right. However, it is possible that hardware is fine and everything was checked before delivery. Unfortunately, Windows is probably the worst operating system in the world. Broken updates, drivers conflicts and viruses often damage the operating system. It is possible that Jason`s problem is only software issue.

He is not IT professional for sure. For that reason I have gave him exact instruction how he could check his mobile workstation in proper way. I believe he did not, so I have not compassion or sympathy for him at all.

He prefers to call service and replace graphic card or motherboard than use his mind check everything in proper way. Of course, it is his right as a user, costumer and Dell`s client. However, is it clever?
