I was able to work with a 7510 for a few days. It does indeed maintain max turbo speeds indefinitely.

That's typical for business/professional class Dell machines. Their cooling systems are excellent.

Not so for xps15. It begin to slow down after 2 min. After thermal paste upgrade it extends to 4-5 min, no more.

Hi, are you referring to the older version of XPS15 or the newest version of XPS15? Thanks

I have received my new precision 7510 few days ago and I am very disappointed by the high resolution screen (3840x2160). The panel is a sharp LQ156D1JW02, as I realized contacting the technical service. It seems to have a very narrow viewing angle, although the description on the DELL site claimed it was "Wide View ". Even being in front of the display, watching one side of the display the other side appear darker (and the right side is darker of the left one if eyes are aligned on the center of the display). Looking at the screen from a very small angle the display is dark and with low contrast. My old (5 years) latitude with a standard screen has a much higher uniformity of the brightness and larger viewing angle.

I would like to know if other 7510 users have the same issue. After complaining with our DELL commercial contact, they sent a technician to change the panel (but same model). It was slightly (very slightly) better than the first one in term of uniformity of the brightness, but it was still far from being acceptable. Comparing my new laptop with other DELL laptops of colleagues (e.g. M3800 with the 4K display, but also older M6600 and latitude with standard resolution) the quality was a lot lower. In any case, after few hours the new panel started flickering so cannot be used anymore.
Now, I don't know what to do: asking for a new replacement of the same model of the panel? send back the laptop asking one with a different kind of screen? unfortunetly this is the only 4K panel available for the 7510 (why they cannot offer the panel available for the M3800, for example?)....

The display is the only disappointing part, performance are good, battery is acceptable and the cooling is great...

PS: if new, better, panels will be available in the future for the 7510, it could be possible to buy and change only the display?
PS2: At this point, the lenovo P50 could have been a better choice (even considering the thunderbolt which is not yet available on the 7510, unfortunetly I cannot wait ...). I always buy DELL laptop mainly for the assistance (very good, fast and available everywhere in the world), I don't know how is the lenovo one ... if it is comparable, next time I will consider to change

This is very disappointing to read. Mine is on the way with a 4K display. I thought it would be on par with the XPS line screens. I will check mine when it comes in and if the screen is as you described it's going back immediately. Lenovo would be much better in that case.
