@ft_ I'm considering updating my BIOS from 1.8.3 to 1.10.7. No issues yet? I get nervous when I see they modified the Intel Video BIOS as that didn't go so well for me in the past... but that was long time ago.

I updated on my 7710 with no issue. I have switchable graphics turned off, but turned it on, did the bios update, and then turned it off after I did that since it said there was an update to the intel video bios.

I get no issues at all, but I mainly use Ubuntu 17.04 beta at the moment.

Talking about video, I noticed that my display goes crazy when I connect a hdmi external monitor and turn it on *after*. When I turn the monitor on and connect hdmi after that, all is ok, I can change displays settings (Fn+F8). I believed it was a Linux stuff but I get the same issue with W7. Not a big deal, but somtimes annoying. Not BIOS 1.10.7 related, though.

Wish I was so lucky with the latest updates.

I updated through dell command update an hour ago and just got my first blue screen ever in Window 10. It could be coincidence, but seems unlikely as I've never had a blue screen on this hardware.

Crossing my fingers that it doesn't happen again.

Aaron44126, which dock do you have and what is your everyday dock setup (number of monitors/resolutions, etc), if you don't mine me asking? I currently have an M4700 and am considering an upgrade to the 7510 but have seen mixed reviews with the docks.

Ha ha, it is an interesting setup.

When I first got the 7510, I had two external 1080p displays plus the laptop built-in 1080p display. For the dock I used the "Dell Dock" model number WD15 (the USB-C dock). This one worked fine for me, I never had any trouble, but it can only drive two displays at 1080p (60 Hz) or one 4K display (at 30 Hz). The USB-C dock cannot provide full power to the 7510 so it is necessary to connect a power cable in addition to the dock cable.

Later on, my company splurged and bought a pile of 4K displays, and I picked up two of them. So now, my current configuration with the 7510 is two 4K displays and one 1080p display, with the laptop shut while docked (I don't use the laptop display anymore... it is just too small and awkward with the other large displays). The 4K displays are connected to a new TB16 Thunderbolt dock. The only way I could get the 1080p to work was to connect it to a legacy ePort dock. The system otherwise seems to be maxed out on external screens if you connect two 4K screens (at 60 Hz), using the ePort dock for an additional screen works because the ePort dock DVI/DP ports are connected directly to the discrete GPU and not the Intel GPU like the other ports.

The TB16 dock is a little more tricky but way better than the TB15 dock, which we had a pretty miserable experience with. I have found that, with the most updated BIOS, Thunderbolt drivers, Thunderbolt firmware, and the ASMedia USB drivers installed, I have had no issues with the TB16 dock. We actually have five more of them deployed with Precision 5510s and they haven't had any issues either.

So right now my 7510 is connected to two docks. I do have it set up so that it is easy to remove and carry away, I just have to eject it from the ePort dock and also remove the TB cable.

I tried to do the reverse swap and was stymied. The cable is different for the two screens, it's not that expensive but requires a lot of disassembly. The panel itself is easy to switch.
