Does anyone know what the stated current handling capabilities of the laptops USB 3.0 ports are? Looking to hook up an external Samsung 512gb 850 Pro SSD and just wondering if the port can supply enough current on it's own without having to use an external power supply. Specs say that the 850 uses a little under 4 watts at maximum and I would like to have a couple of watts of headroom.

You can power an SSD or a 2.5" HDD off of the USB ports without any extra power supply. I do this regularly using a USB 3.0 to SATA adapter/dongle, but you could buy a nicer looking enclosure and that should be fine too.

This might be a dumb question, but after spending some time on google I couldn't find a good answer regarding laptop support for HDMI 1.4 or 2.0.... Probably due to my lack of knowledge on the subject.
So, does the 7510 support HDMI 1.4 or 2.0? I was able to see that the M2000M card (which is the one I have in my machine) does support display port 1.2

How can one confirm we have a TB3 port on our 7510?

Tried Device Manager in Win7 but couldn't find anything there.

At present using a E-port Pro docking station, but using a Dell U3417W causes flickering when connected through DP on the docking station after resuming from the screen saver/screen off mode...

Edited to Add: Whoops! This question is already being discussed - sorry!

Edited to Add 2: One way to check is to go into the Dell Command Optimizer application or the Dell Command Update to see if it reports TB3 present.

I guess that's the only way I have found it, but I also confirmed with Dell tech support that this unit has TB3. Don't have any TB peripherals, so cannot test it...

If you have the USB-C port (and it is functional), then you also have TB3. Those ports come together on this machine, you can't get USB-C without TB3.

You need to have graphics switching turned on in the BIOS in order to use the eGPU with the built-in display. (It doesn't look like you have it turned on, because the Intel GPU does not appear in device manager.)

In the NVIDIA control panel, under "Manage 3D Settings", can configure which apps will run on the NVIDIA GPU (and which will run on the Intel GPU) on an app-by-app basis if you like, or accept NVIDIA's default profiles.

I'm not sure how this will work with multiple NVIDIA GPUs. You might have to disable the M2000M in device manager in order to force the use of the 980M.

Just an update on Battery degradation. I got my 7510 in Nov. and it's already showing 12.4% wear on the battery. I use the battery usually about 1 day a week. Disappointed to see such rapid wear (I paid for the extended life battery option). Running the latest bios.

It's difficult to compare different usages but I think that there is a problem somewhere.
I owned a reasonable amount of laptops and it's the first time I notice such a wear level.

I bought my 7510 a year ago, I never use express charge and wear level is at 45 %. Yes, it remains 55 % of 91 Wh.
I obviously called Dell (I wrote that already in this thread) and they send me without arguing another battery that I use at work (I need a ~ 6 hours use) as I did not have to send back the old one.

Since this, I have selected "mains" (I do not remember the exact name !) in BIOS power charging options instead of adaptative that I never changed since I received my 7510. I guess it's the less agressive charging option ?

It would be interesting to get some other owners feedback.
