If you set the SATA mode to AHCI, Windows should be able to find it without an extra driver. With the default RAID mode you will need to include Intel's F6 drivers for RAID.

We really need some detailed information about that screen, then :)

Is it bright enough? What about backlight bleeding through on the edges, especially visible on the dark background when windows boots? What about lower contrast and brightness away from the center of the screen and against the bezels? Does the contrast change when you raise and lower the screen more than 10-15 degrees?

I can not believe anyone describing the IGZO that *I* got the first time around as "very good"

Can you run hwinfo64 and post the screen model number?

I had the same issue with a Lenovo P50. The 4K screen was unusable. I ended up returning it and reordering the machine with an FHD screen but that came with its own screen issues.

On my M4800 I also have the Sharp LQ156D1 (LQ156D1 [DELL P/N: 71YHK]) and it is a very good display. No light bleed/shadows and very bright, at least for me (226 cd/m2).

The measured contrast ratio is 1470:1 at my normal display brightness of 147 cd/m2 (nits) where the black point is 0.10 cd/m2, hence the ratio - I color calibrate my own displays with a colorimeter.

I just thought I would throw this FYI for comparison.

Coming from an m3800 I find the igzo good enough. Not all that bright but it's fine for me. The anti-glare coating does make it look a bit dull but I prefer the igzo to the UHD IPS screen. Monitor Model is LQ156D1

BUT the fingerprint is bulky and not functional 4 times out of 5 !!! I installed the drivers and all. The fingerprint reader on my old 2010 Sony Vaio Z worked perferctly fom day one. I used it to log on to windows and all websites. This bulky thing is 4 times the size of the sony fingerprint reader and is not working as expected !! I'm not sure I can use the DigitalPersona software. It was not installed when I got it.

The model is identical to what I got. Must have been a bad batch, then... Anyways, I'm satisfied with the FHD I got afterwards.

the UHD I got on the first order was very bright but I couldn't stand the resolution. The screen/font looked fuzzy probably because I got used to the m3800 resolution. I'm very happy with the resolution and scaling on the IGZO screen.
