m5100 works great in the m4600 -I've had no issues over the past year since I upgraded. Only downside is the laptop ec can't read the 5100 temp sensor, so you have to override it with the utility valuxin provided:

I haven't flashed the OC vbios (also valuxin) yet, as I didn't want to mess with it.

BTW @TheReciever , it was your valuxin-guided upgrade process that convinced me to try upgrading to a m5100 in the first place. I read this thread like 10 times before dropping the cash for the card.

Big thanks to both of you!

Hi guys,I can confirm this configuration as you can see in details in my sign.

So, could you explain me in details, looking at this configuration if the upgrade with RX560 is achievable?

The info i've found for several variants if the LP156WF3 display (with suffixes SLB1/2/3/4) indicate it's an LVDS interface display (the "SL" part; "TL" is the indicator of eDP, for LG-Philips screens). As such, while upgrading to an RX560 might / would technically work, i highly doubt it'll display anything on the internal display.

That is, assuming the RX560 does away with the LVDS output. But as always, i could be wrong...

That being said, that sounds like a pretty nice display - 10-bit colours (as opposed to 6-bit as the vast majority are), RGB backlight...

But back to the topic - i guess we're just waiting for news from @that1guythat1time :)

Thank You KhronX for your points of view!!!

I wanted to ask another question.
I discovered only today that for M4600 there is a new bios upgrade to the A17 version. Do you think it can positively affect the video card upgrade in any way? Do you know what went to improve?

You can't physically modify mainboards via BIOS updates, sadly...
