Did you make any changes to the BIOS configuration?

I think just booting AHCI instead of RAID.

Wow! Dell, where is the QC? A firmware update that nearly bricks machines??

When the dgpu is disabled, do the DP and HDMI outputs switch to using the dgpu as well?

Well I just installed today's BIOS update and it went smoothly. It actually went very well! My M1000M now shows up!!!!

Now I just need to get the FIPS fingerprint reader to work :(

I've read that others also had success with the 1.4.8 update. Question for you, which BIOS version were you updating from and were you in AHCI or RAID in BIOS at the time?

I was in 1.3.12 with RAID when i attempted the 1.4.8 BIOS update and failed. Not sure if those things mattered, but still curious.

I may try it again and if my display turns to snow again I now know how to blindly navigate through the BIOS to disable switchable graphics if necessary. And if there was snow I may try to remain at 1.4.8 instead of downgrading back to 1.3.12. Then resetting BIOS to defaults before reeenabling switchable graphics.

Edit: changed my mind, I'll wait for a future update version

Well after spending 10k plus on three different 7510's...I sent mine back. Dell techs scratches or screw ups while replacing different parts or spilling water during house visits. This marriage is over, happy with the 5510 and hopefully 7710 goes as well next week

Got my Precision 7510 Today - 6 days ahead of estimate!

    Windows8.1 / Core™ i7-6820HQ / 15.6" UltraSharp FHD IPS / M2000M / 8GB RAM / 500GB HDD / Thunderbolt3 / Backlit K/Board.

My first impression - This is a nice piece of work.

First boot - No problems ... I checked right away for the M2000M if it shows up in Device Manager - It does ...

I did not connect to the Internet and did not install any Windows or Dell Updates. At this point I want to see what happens directly out of the box.

The only noise comes from the Seagate 500GB HDD.

I replaced the HDD with an SSD - nothing fancy. I used Macrium to Image the factory OS first ... Replaced the 2.5" HDD w/ the SSD and Restored the image to the SSD ... Now it boots faster and no more noise - none.

I haven't pushed the system but so far the fans have not came on and the laptop was only just warm at the back.

Speakers are loud enough but System Sounds seem to distort a bit - I'm not sure, it may well be some little thing that's rattling or vibrating. It's not an issue for me since I use headphones or connect real speakers.

Keyboard? - It's great - better than my Lenovo W530 or my Asus N56JN so far as I'm concerned.

BUT - Things aren't all rosey - I've got a dead pixel on my screen ... Just goes to show, you can't win 'em all.

Just a question: Does Thunderbolt 3 show up anywhere? I can't find it in Device Manager. It's not there for me and the driver is installed since Thunderbolt 3 software installation shows up under Installed Programs.

Same here. I think that is normal. It doesn't show in device manager although I see it in Program/Features.

Here is the driver and firmware which you probably already have on the new system.
