I made an edit, after you hover over the Video option in the BIOS, expand the tree, then go to switchable graphics and highlight that option, then follow the keystrokes posted.

Awesome! Glad you got it working. I called Pro Support and they opened up an emergency BIOS fix that should be published within 24-48hours.

I posted the wrong pic, sorry. Just hit F2 as explained instead of what is shown in the picture.

I re-applied the 1.3.12 BIOS update executable. That worked. I'm typing from the 7710 now. After the 1.3.12 update finished, I went into BIOS again and re-enabled switchable graphics.

I probably won't do a BIOS update again for a long time. lol. Thanks to Mustang for excellent solution that really saved the day.

I'm glad this all worked out. After spending 10+ hours troubleshooting the issue with the dGPU not being recognized and Dell wanting to replace the MOBO and dGPU, I wasn't going to let this happen again.

I would have tried that if I hadn't already downgraded by the time I read this. The downgrade worked fine by the way. Then I reenabled switchable graphics.

At least dell was consistent... 3 out of 4 had the same issue. I wonder how you got it to work Mike? I should have removed all my external display and peripherals. Maybe that was it.

The only thing I had plugged in was the power, so I don't think it had anything to do with your peripherals.

No idea. I guess I a lucky. Wondering if after a few reboots if it will crap out. I thought it could be different graphics cards, but we have the same. I have the i7-6920. You have the XEON. Maybe that is the issue?

For those having the issue, what processor do you have? Anyone else update the 7710 without an issue?

That could be it. The Xeon has P530 where the i7-6920 has 530 (according to Ark) and they definately did something to the integrated gpu video bios

I also have the i7-6920 and had the issue, so I don't think it is processor related.
