Damn, that fact about the 7510 is the only real bummer thus far for me... Been stretching my M4500 for 5 years now, and that included both a 1 TB hdd and SSD, purchases that I justified for myself with the idea that I would carry them both over to my next machine... Now I'll have to sacrifice one of them, and on top of that invest in a sizable M.2 SSD because 1TB in total just doesn't cut it...Ouch... Going 17" is not an option, I really loved the expandability in 15" format. Why can't we ever have perfect options, lol...

I'm not gonna lie, I'm not particularly liking them, which is not cool considering I wanted the 7710 to replace my M6700.
Looking at the few pics like this one, seems like they are doing strange things with the ports, or at least not positioning them ideally. Why turn the audio jacks into a combo one? Also why only Ethernet on the back? (at least they did keep power there)
Wonder what's on the other side, since all the pics I found were too blurry (besides USB-C and HDMI which are a given).

Just saw that, and it's really, really disappointing, not sure why they had to remove one 2.5'' bay given they also removed the optical drive, they have plenty of space there.

Interesting...now Dell goes slightly more consumerized with its Workstation models, like Lenovo did with the W540. At the same time, Lenovo goes a step back to slightly more "traditional Workstation design" with the new P-Series (P50 and P70).

It will be interesting to see what HP will offer...

 

I'm also disappointed with the drive options. Don't get me wrong, having two M.2 ports is really cool. However, having two 2.5" drives (or three with the optical bay) offered some flexibility that is lost now. Also means, for some, that "migrating" to the 7710 is likely going to require an additional (expensive) drive purchase that could be avoided if it had two 2.5" bays, as an existing 2.5" SSD + 2.5" HDD combo will not work.

 

Just a horrible step back in many ways with this new chassis. I have no idea why manufacturers have such a hard on for having combo headset jacks when there's enough room for separate jacks.

Likely casualties with regards to the ports would be VGA and eSATA.

Yes, the other site I sourced above may well be wrong. We'll find out when they finally post the tech specs sheet.

 

That looks like the keyboard out of my E7450. Note that you need to use the Fn key for Home and End.

I would also note that the keyboard in the photo is the European layout which has an extra key compared to the US layout which is likely to look like this:

More hope... This link claims a progression from 2TB > 3 TB > 4 TB maximum storage for the 5510, 7510 and 7710. Another indication that the 7510 should have 2 2"5 bays.
