Those little convienet features that always distinquished the line.
Understood. However, to be more specific, what number of 4k monitors are they equipped to support?

According to the specs on the Dell India website, the docking station supports upto five FHD or two 4K displays and five other devices.

To all of those who complain about the headphone jack sitting on the right side:
yes it's a very bad design but even the lenovo p50 and p70 have the headphone combo on the right side.

And to be honest, the keyboards on the p50 and p70 are in no way better than dells keyboards. I personally don't like the location of the fn-button on the lenovos keyboards.

The 3510 & 5510 require 130W of power. The 7510 requires 180W and the 7710 requires 240W. The new Thunderbolt 3 dock provides up to 130W of power so on the 3510 & 5510 it will provide all the power you need. On the 7510 & 7710 you will need to also connect a power adapter to the system along with the new docking cable.

Great to know that! Thanks for your answer, Mano.
Just one further question, is it possible to use a 65W USB Type C power adapter, such as the power adapter of Chromebook Pixel, to (slowly) charge a powered off 3510/5510 (or even 7510/7710). I really don't like proprietary power bricks, so if it works, then it means I don't need to carry the power brick at all during travel with light use of laptop, since one universal USB Type C power adapter should serve all my devices in most cases very well.

I'd be curious about this as well... I learned that the XPS13 adapter will kinda sustain an XPS15 but not charge, even if the larger unit is powered down.

And one other semi-related question... any thoughts on whether the Dell Portable Power Companion battery packs will work with the new Precision systems? I would expect the 18000 unit to work with the 7510 depending on cpu choice, but would love to know for sure.

I don’t see the 17” 7710 or any of the new precisions on the Dell website for that matter(or am I missing something?) I would like to do some comparison with the precisions, the new Lenovo workstation (17 inch) , MSI, Acer and Asus 17inch machines.

I would like to get 7710 or some other 17 “ 4k notebook by Christmas (even if it arrives on DEC24th although I don’t want to cut it that close) what’s the latest one (precision) could be ordered in order to insure delivery by Christmas. Including possible delays I realize one can’t really predict how long or if a delay happens but does anyone have any estimates ?

fyi - I live in the USA

Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions

Lenovo says p70 ship support is starting soon. It's possible they will be orderable next week. No indication when 7710 will be orderable.
