i saw this on the dell site :

    Connectivity
    WLAN
    Wireless LAN, Bluetooth® 2.1 and Ultra-Wideband (UWB)7
    Next Generation Mobile Broadband8, GPS

but there was no option online to select the gps as far as i can tell when ordering it online, so is the GPS standard? or is it with the data plan subscription?

    Hi,
    a little side-kick to a different topic?
I got a used E6500 and experience some slight random screen flickering at low brightness levels, even when in BIOS setup mode (so it's not a power management or driver version issue, but seemingly a more generic hardware problem).

Did you ever observe this with your E6500, as well?

If so, please also consider sharing your experience (also) into the "E6400: screen flickering" thread (disregarding the "E6400" in its title, because for now let's not assume the issue would be specific to the E6400 alone).
    Many thanks

Used a E6500 with 1440x900 led backlit display for around a year. Zero issues with the machine. No throttle, no flicker, nothing. It just always works.

can anyone tell me if the...

"Blu-ray Disc™ with Roxio and Cyberlink PDVD"

allows burning of DVDs? Dual layer or otherwise.

Would be nice to have blue-ray but if I can't burn dvd's then I'll go with a different optical drive. ALso, is the Blu-ray player a slot or tray fed player?

Thanks a bunch. Just trying to get some final options decided upon before pulling the trigger.

    Up to three hard-drives?

In many of the reviews I read about the possibility of up to 3 drives (not including the optical drive). The review link posted a few posts above mine mentioned this again so thought I'd bring it up.

"There is room for two 500GB drives and one 64GB solid-state drive (SSD)."

But the online store only allows the option of two drives. Is the third drive they speak of a SATA mini pcie SSD?

    Thanks,

    Ben
