    well, I got an offer for a similar build but with the i7-920XM Extreme instead of the i7-820QM and two 320GB 7200RPM Free Fall Sensor Hard Drives in raid 0,2 instead of one for 4000$. so it might not be a mistake.
    But I called from my office and the company i work for already has an account with Dell so that's kind of a special offer.

    Are you saying that price he got quoted is a 'wholesale' price? i.e. for resale?

    well i took the deal already.. it says in production currently and ship date 15th jan, as far as i know... this laptop is not for resale, i remember the rep asked me what the laptop was for, but i said if for business use.

    dell partners, to my understanding, are basically companies who purchase almost exclusively from dell for business use. 30% coupons are also available from time to time but for the precisions they are far less common.

    Anyone in France have a name/contact to drop for a Dell sell representative ? I want to pass my order for M6500 and looking for a good deal, at least better that what 's online order can offer me ?
