I saw some of the 399 ones but they only had 2gb of ram and used the older i3... Figured 40 bucks - 20% would be worth the slight upgrade.

I am pretty sure the 1030 has bluetooth... if not... I guess I could always switch mine too. Its not really hard to do.

Question, would it be possible for someone to find out wether the WWAN card is connected to USB or PCI lanes? The same with the WLAN too?

Is Dell outlet getting cleaned out? Some good deals to be had. Don't forget Dell participates in some cashback offers, such as 5% from Shop Discover. This makes it 25% off. Back when deal started you could get an i5 for $460 and the Celeron model for $285.

BTW I believe all of these have the web cam. It was the Latitude models which do not (by default). If these come with an optical drive, would probably be USB.

I ordered 2 of these and one has 2.0 webcam in the line item detail and the order does not have any webcam line item. My only assumption is that the 2.0 webcam is an upgraded feature, whereas by default it comes with a 1.0 megapixel webcam. I recall a lot of sites that had reviewed the V131 mentioned in their review spec, a 1.0 mp webcam and it made me go "hmmm...."

I was messing around with the specs for a New one and there is no upgrade option I can see for the webcam. I know alot of the review sites had foreign models though, so who knows. The dell site calls the webcam an "HD webcam" so that means its 720p. I really doubt they would bother to offer 2 webcams, so who knows what it really is... Rest assured though that its going to be easily capable of doing HD skype or videocalling.

I always forget my discover 5% back... I am so used to paying with paypal that I usually don't bother with my discover card... Sigh... Next time.

Any word on a new V series coming out? I would not be surprised if they came out with a vostro version of the xps13 ultrabook. You have to consider that they are blowing out their inventory for a reason.

Yesterday, Dell.ca had the Celeron/Ubuntu model on for $287 after discount and 10% coupon.

Backlit keyboard was a $0 upgrade too so I obviously added that. Kept the 4-cell as I don't want the extra height.

I have a Vertex 2 SSD sitting unused (as well as a Win7 license) so I figured it would make a good surfing laptop.

Used to own the V13 and loved it.

$312 all in for an ultraportable with HDMI, USB 3.0 and backlit keyboard is a no-brainer.

That Celeron would scare me. Not sure how much video you're gonna get out the HDMI with a Celeron and Intel video. Resalability is gonna be hard too.

    Cheap, though! :)

Okay, can someone, anyone, with a V131, run CPU-z and report what socket it tells you the CPU is? I'm planning on grabbing the cheapet outlet Celeron 847 model, and upgrading it with an i7-2620M, 8GB RAM, and an eGPU. :) The eGPU and RAM are easily possible, its the i7 that could be not possible, if the socket is not what I think it is.

You do realize the Celeron is fully capable of 1080p playback, right? It's a Sandy Bridge dual core CPU.
The original V13 from 2 yrs ago w/Celeron could do it. As for resale, seriously, why would I bother selling something that cheap. :)

I optimized the color calibration to reduce the bluish tint. Will you guys give it a try and see how well it looks for you?

    Thanks!

(I had to B&W it to make it fit as an attachment)
