mervincm in an earlier post said he benchmarked an OCZ Agility 3 drive and got expected performance, so it is indeed SATA 6Gbps. BTW that's the "official" way to call it, not "sata3." SATA II was SATA 3Gbps, so it isn't called SATA III or SATA 3 to avoid confusion... but I guess that's too late now.

IDK about the heat output. My Latitude 13 stayed cool the whole time, but this is a whole new platform.

Vostro V131 does have dual channel RAM.

    Hi all,

I have the 500GB WD 7200RPM HDD (WD5000BPKT-75PK4T0) in my V131 and was wondering whether it has a free-fall sensor?

Also, is the STMicroelectronics AccelerometerP11 software (Windows) related to the free-fall? Or does it serve some other purpose?

    Thanks!

Actually doesn't look too bad (assuming USD) because the US deal is with 1 year warranty. Cost $80 to bump to 3 year warranty, putting it at $680.

    Vostro V131 review @AnandTech

BTW I got in my first V131, the red one I ordered for my wife. My silver one had a later ship date. Oh yeah, and the netbooks that were $99.99+$25ship bundled with the deal both showed up last week. Have only barely used the V131 (waiting on an SSD that will show up next week) but so far so good. Comparing it to my Latitude 13 and the screen is about the same. That relieves me because a lot of people were hating on it. Sure, not the best screen in the world, but doesn't look any worse than before. I think the internet lets people obsess more. :p The speakers sound pretty decent too, actually better than the Latitude 13.
