Not seeing any throttling so far. I have only been borrowing the system from my Dell rep for a couple of days, so I will try to get it to throttle.

Ran a 21 minute video trans-code and there was no throttling.

Adobe Creative Cloud 2014/2015 looks great on the 4K screen. Adobe CS6 is usable, but the menus will be really small.

TVPaint does not need much of a video card, but does like as many fast cores as possible. The XEON in the Precision 5510 may make a big difference. Will try to do some testing with the trial version for you.

The system requirements for Cinema 4D do mention "Make sure that you always use the most current certified graphics card driver (no beta versions)", so the Precision might be better with the Quadro and certified drivers.

The screen on the Precision 5510 measures VERY well. Extremely accurate color (Average Delta under 1) and my measurements show it fully covering the AdobeRGB gamut and 99% of NTSC.

I will ask for you. I don't work for Dell. Our Dell rep has one and I begged to borrow it for a couple of days to test.

Thanks. For comparison, NbC previewed the Skylake CPUs in the XPS 15 with Cinebench 15 Multi 64-bit
    XPS15 i5-6300HQ - 462 multi
    XPS15 i7-6700HQ - 676 multi

Did you test that yourself? I have ordered a new XPS 15 and just noticed this device (read so many laptop news recently, don't know how I could miss it) and now considering cancelling that order and ordering this one instead, so it would be really amazing if you could give any more information about the M1000M! (any other benchmarks maybe?) I am worried that it would be significantly worse for gaming purposes than the XPS's GTX 960m based on the specifications, but I believe that your score surprisingly shows that it is even slightly better isn't much worse?

Are there any other differences between the XPS 15 9550 and the Precision 5510 apart from the CPU and GPU? (I would be curious about any small details like speakers, ports or webcam) Also, do you know the approximate prices of any higher-end versions of the Precision 5510 by any chance?

Let me know what you want benchmarked. For gaming I was going to run the built-in benchmarks for Bioshock Infinate and Tomb Raider. Also planning to benchmark with the current version of 3D Mark. Any other suggestions are welcomed.

Currently running the more workstation oriented benchmarks like SpecViewPerf 12.

Quadro drivers are mainly geared towards OpenGL since the higher-end ones still depend on that. DirectX may be on some low-end things but that's not too common across professional apps.

It's not worse but it also doesn't make sense to get a M1000M if one intends to play games. For some common work apps (like Adobe suite), the GeForce will accelerate just fine. And most of what others list on here depend on the CPU or a beefy GPU that won't be in a 15" thin laptop.
