Based on the K620M benchmarks, M1000M should be faster than the K2100M due to the Maxwell architecture (less gimped on compute, efficient design) and configuration.

I'd be pissed if they had offered that paltry M600M but the M1000M is a good balance between power, performance, and likely supplier cost for the thin 5510.

The new XPS 15 and the Precision 5510 appear to be virtually the same machine -- the prior-generation XPS 15 and the M3800 were almost exactly the same system. The GPU is a little different; the 5510 is a must if you need to run certain kinds of OpenGL or CUDA/GP-GPU software (especially if you need ISV certified drivers to get support), and the XPS 15" may perform a little for gaming. Otherwise, it's pretty much a matter of price and whether you can get the exact configuration you want in one but not the other (and it's definitely not safe to assume that one is pricier/cheaper -- the M3800 was actually substantially cheaper when I got it, due to being able to custom-order.

As for the Macbook Pro 15:
    1) The most important thing is to decide which OS you want. If you need to run a few light-duty things on Windows, you can get the Mac and run Parallels or VirtualBox or VMWare Fusion (or maybe even Crossover), and mostly use the MacOS. If you need to do heavy-duty things in Windows, get a real Windows machine; Bootcamp is really a waste. Especially true if you're considering things that require ISV certification on Windows - there are often Mac versions that will run on the MBP 15, but you'll be unsupported if running Bootcamp.

    2) There's no updated Skylake MacBook Pro 15 yet, and the 5510 is only announced but not orderable. If you actually need a machine ASAP, your only option is the XPS 15. If you want a really fair comparison, you can wait for Apple to announce the new MBP 15, although rumor has it that it won't be released until very early next year.

i forgot to add that i'm a graphic designer so i'm looking for a laptop which will serve me for 4-5 years without bigger problems and slow downs with mostly adobe programs , some 3d might seldom happen and yes i do need a machine ASAP but i can wait for a month or 1,5

mr_handy gave a great breakdown of the Precision vs XPS lines. The only thing I would add is that the Precision line historically has been much better built and have better warranty and support options than the XPS line. I write "historically" because it looks like Dell changing their build design or philosophy from their old Precision m6x00 (and m3x00 and m4x00) series, so we can't be sure that the new Precision 7x00 and 5x00 series.

Just to give you an idea of how well the m6x00 were built, about a month after I first got my m6600 about four years ago, I accidentally knocked it off the half-bar overlooking my kitchen. My half-bar is four feet high and the floor is hardwood. When my laptop hit the hardwood floor, it put a dent in it. The damage to my laptop; a small -- and I do mean small -- dent on the edge or corner where the power connection is. The damage was so insignificant that I just plugged in my laptop and kept going. My m6600 is still working, four years later.

If the build quality of the new Dell 5510 (which, incidentally, is the model I am planning to get) is anything like that of my old m6600, you should have no problems with it lasting 4-5 years.

The M1000M should end up being faster than the K2100M. It is much faster than the K1100M. The GPU score in 3DMark11 for the K1100M is around 1825. I just saw 4546 from the M1000M. A K4100M scores around 4957.

so overall precision 5510 would be a better choice than xps 15 for a graphic designer right ?

Cinebench R15 OpenGL rendering is almost twice as fast as the K1100M.

    5510 XEON E3-1505M v5 / M1000M - 61.19fps
    M3800 i7-4702HQ / K1100M - 34.89fps
    M6700 i7-3940XM / K5000M - 88.21fps

The XEON is faster than any of my other CPUs in the Cinebench Multi Score and Single CPU score

    5510 XEON E3-1505M v5 / M1000M - 722 multi / 152 single
    M3800 i7-4702HQ / K1100M - 580 multi / 126 single
    M6700 i7-3940XM / K5000M - 659 multi / 139 single

Fast cpu is not effective on a slim profile like Dell 5510. It get hot too fast then throttle.
