Its the RAID implementation - works with any two identically sized drives. Dell offers either RAID 1 or RAID 0, but you can set this up yourself.

    1920x1200 CCFL (WXUGA+)

i wish i got the E2E but in the UK...its about £400-£700 addition depending on the processor..Which i cant simply afford..Credit crunch is a deadly virus!

Your impressions of your screen seem to be good so far..Am a bit worried about vista (got ultimate)because i havent used it yet since i was a mac user. But i am hoping that issues with the OS have reduced.

Yeah, I'm very happy with the screen - Definitely one of the better CCFL, non glossy WXGA+ screens I've seen. (Thats a lot of conditions, but still :D )

Pics posted - what else can I tell you guys?

I'll post one of the touchpad's display when I get it operational again - Vista is installing now.

Thanks for the pics, especially the ones comparing it to a 4400, and I'm glad to hear that the 130w adapter from the 4400 works as well. My company just returned 3 faulty 4400s to get 3 new 6400s in exchange, but we kept the e-port plus stations and adapters. I was worried that the old adapters wouldn't work with the 6400s, but now it looks like we can use the 210W for desktop use and the 130W when at home.

Wow, that 6400 is big though...I hope it fits in my Ogio backpack laptop pocket :(

how is the build, any sound creaks or does it feel solid.

Also have you tried stuffing everything in a laptop bag to see how heavy things will be if one decides to take it mobile...often?

How many usbs...i thought it was 4?

Yeah, I'm keeping the docking station from the m4400 as well. Thats exactly what I'm doing, too. Its actually a fairly compact 17" - except the power brick of course.

I don't know exactly what the limitations of the 130W will be just yet - haven't gotten that far, but I do plan on finding out.

SOLID. Let me repeat - SOLID. This is I think the most sturdy laptop I've ever owned, and I've owned a lot of them (just ask my wife :) )

I can't make it flex or creak anywhere.

4 USB ports, one of them a hybrid USB or eSATA port.

I just read the quick setup documentation for the 6400 and it says it can use adapters from 130W to 210W so you should be ok with the 130. What does the warning say when it comes up?

Oh, forgot to ask - why are you getting rid of the 4400? Ours were locking up constantly...
