I chatted with a dell rep today asking what they would charge for an m2000m. They said it is not sold separately at this time.

You will probably have to find it separately. It will show up on eBay after a while (you can already find M5000M there).

The keyboard on the new Precisions appears to be identical to that on 15-inch Latitudes 5000, i.e.. E5550.

I have an m4800 that is still in its return window with the FHD screen and the m5100. The laptop is great but I think I want to return it and go for one with the 4k screen ... but I want the newer maxwell gpu :p

    Now the question is...
Do I get the m4800, with the 4k screen, and hope some M2000M's come up for $200-$300 soon
    or
Get the new 7510 with the 4k scree + M2000M, but end up spending around $300 more even after purchasing said hypothetical maxwell gpu
    OR
wait for the Lenovo P50 and hope it is not too much more expensive than the 7510...

Well, keep in mind that the K5100M upgrade for the m6800 adds more than $1k to the base price, so that $1k for the M5000M upgrade seems pretty reasonable.

Right, but if the differences between a 6800 and a 7710 were video card only I would agree. What you (will) get from a 7710 will be considerably better than a 6800 in several other areas. On the whole it's just not worth putting a 1000 dollar upgrade into a 67/6800 at this point IMHO ;)

Yeah I agree. It would only be worth thinking about it if you really liked the design of the 6800 over the 7710.

Do you know how long it usually takes for a new model to show up? Weeks, months, years?

7710's are out. Decent minimum config is around 3500 with Tax.
