It's time for a top of the line engineering workstation to support far better than 1920 x 1080.

The M6600 had 3.5 GHz on the CPU side, and it was released in 2011, M6800 was released 3 years later, so 3.9GHz is not that impressive.

The graphics card did improve significantly from 4GB to 8GB memory, although the M6600 can still do practically the same exact things as the M6800 but slightly slower speed, and maybe not maximum settings for all the latest games anymore.

The battery life of the M6800 is roughly the same as the M6600, maybe one hour more, but this depends on what you're doing.

The weight of the m6800 is about a pound and a half lighter, and roughly the same exact design as the M6600. I'm not sure what you mean by 'it has better build quality' because they have pretty much exactly the same design, same keyboard, same button locations, battery locations, component locations, same monitor sizes, etc, practically identical.

So they are practically identical systems, the m6800 is only slightly improved over the M6600, I'm not impressed with it either and felt no need to upgrade from my M6600.

I'd like a 16:10 aspect ratio screen, that's pretty much everything I'd need. Nothing else really.

Exactly my thinking. However, I'd bet dollars to shirt buttons that that's the exact thing they won't give us. Fine, they can keep it, then.

First, 3.1 won't do you much good if peripherals aren't produced to take advantage of it. USB 3.0 has been out for years and there's barely a collection of product that take advantage of it. Cameras, recorders, phones, chargers are still being produced with obsolete USB 2.0. However, having those ports all around would peak my interest.
Speaking of rarely used 3.0, the use of Thunderbolt is infinitesimal by comparison even to it. An option only for pros.
This handicap should be lifted by now.
I agree with the UQHD resolution but only if there's a wide gamut 10 bit option. And you'd still need a card to support it.
The 64 GB ram? Since I have After Effects and Cinema 4D absolutely. I'd certainly be chompin' at the bit for that. Nothing below that would interest me.

One more thing I'd like to add to my wish list is a remote or external trigger to turn the machine on without having to open it I'd appreciate this even if it were an option so I wouldn't have to keep moving my laptop when its in external monitor configuration.

One more thing, I'd also like to see more recess on the ports so that I could flush mount the newer smaller thumb drives being released. And last but not not least, the quest for better laptop speakers continues.

That's my wish list, I'd like to hear yours.

Actually I prefer it as well if they moved the spacebar about 2.5mm down or spaced each key about .1mm away from each other for slightly more room, then that would be perfect for typing. The absolute perfect keyboard for me at least... My thumb would hurt after typing for a while on this keyboard which is why I think it would be better if they moved it down a bit.

I'd also like a much bigger trackpad and if it were moved to the very far right hand side of the palmrest, right below the numpad key section. I'd like it if the left hand side were filled with macro key shortcuts that you could customize.

But for now the best part about this computer in my opinion is the keyboard and armrest combination. Almost perfect, but slightly more spread apart and it would be the absolute best.

    Eject-able PCI-e 3 SSD!

I have been taking out that dummy Express Card so many times...looking...wondering...Why??? Why is it not an SSD? :D

My wish is to have a PCI-e 3 SSD in my laptop which can be taken out when needed. Security? It would be fantastic if someone out there would make an ExpressCard PCI-e 3 SSD but it seems noone is working on that front.

Therefore Dell could take the lead and make a slot and a caddy to hold a standard form M.2 PCI-e SSD.

    Imagine....

Actually, Dell has taken the lead (Or would that be the tail?), since its one of the very few manufacturers that still even offer express card slot.

Express card slots never really garnered much favor you know. But I still use mine. They're good for two extra superspeed slots which I desperately need.
