Does anyone have any recommendations for a good-quality laptop backpack to fit the M6800? I've got one on order but I'm having difficulty finding a pack designed for a beast like this.

What is the difference in connectors? And did you replace only the main fan or both (presume both)? I have a friend who's considering the M6800, but is concerned by the noisy fans..

Just a note to keep in mind while searching this forum for "backpack":

In the Dell Precision 6000 series,
the 6500 and earlier have 17-inch 16:10 screens, and
the 6600 and later have 17.3-inch 16:9 screens.

Beware that laptops with 17.3-inch diagonal screens (16:9 aspect ratio) tend to be around 16.5 inch wide,
while laptops with 17-inch diagonal screens (16:10 aspect ratio) tend to be around 15.5 inch wide.
So backpacks or cases designed for 17-inch laptops might be an inch short for 17.3 inch laptops.
    Check the interior dimensions carefully.

I only replaced big fan and resoldered connector. 4 wires total, 5 minute job. M6600 fan had has super thin wires so inatead of peeling insulation off i have burned it off with a lighter :)

Used smallest shrink tube to cover exposed wires and even dell service tech didnt notice the difference.

I even got lower temperatures wity m6600 fan in m6800.

So, basically just a connector needs to be replaced with the M6800 one and only on the main fan. Cool, they can do that in any electronics store since my friend's probably too lazy for that. Thanks!

    Hey guys, 2 questions,
Is the m6800 cooling design inferior to the m6700? I know they moved heat pipes around and what not.
Does anyone know if the touch screen on the M6800 is compatible with the M6700?
The m6700 had a very limited touch screen release, but it did exist.

Could anyone with a m6800 and m6100 that has older machine built around early or mid 2014 upload their vbios?

It seems that there are different m6100 revisions, i did not make backup of my own and after messing with bios editing i have some issues now.
