I am unexperienced user so I need few minutes with my Alien to get problem :) Especially when I tried to install 780m in Alien R3. As I know in new Aliens you need to replace mainboard, with older I could wake him up from usb with bios.

970M works with any boot options, With and Without Optimus Switchable Graphics. As in pure UEFI (Legacy Option ROMs = OFF / Secure Boot = Enable / GPT / Win 8.1), and in pure Legacy (Secure Boot = Disabled / Legacy Option ROMs = Enable / MBR / Win 7) Checked!
    SYSTEM BIOS = A13
In archive results of some tests http://rghost.ru/8hXxS6CTY.
System and GPU without overclocking, Switchable Graphics OFF, thermal paste Coollaboratory Liquid Pro on the CPU and GPU, vBIOS Prema CLEVO_6GB_GTX970M_OC_PM_v1.1 https://biosmods.wordpress.com/mxm-vbios/

And Yes, for my taste this Dell M6800 crazy, and worst of all, inadequate noisy. That is, the noise louder than necessary. Because of this, both fans has been connected to these controllers www.ebay.com/itm/141302259926

Due to noise I've fitted my m6800 with m6600 fans :)

Thx for info on 9xx, knowing legacy works i might get 970 in the near future as i'm bound to windows 7.

Yes they do. You need to cut the wires and resolder the connector.

Both fans are rated the same but m6600 fans spin slower and are much quieter. Temps actually went down when i placed m6600 fan in m6800.
