Does anybody have expirience with running M6800 at 100% load both CPU and GPU? I'm wondering if M6800 can handle 100% load with i7-4940MX and K5100M while being docked for hours?

29JPY-173HGE panel, 95.5% sRGB, volume is slightly larger than 100% of sRGB. pretty precise (i1 Pro) rms 0.6dE, max 2dE (likely in blacks). Still waiting on DELL if m4800 with 3840x2160 screen can be an option.

    M6800 vs M6700

Sorry, I know this is a basic question but I have not looked at the M6800 for over a year.

I have owned Dell Precision workstations since the 6300 model. I have a top spec-ed M6700 and need another similar Precision laptop

I have waited for a new model but I can't postpone anymore.

The M6700 that I have has RGB LED which, I believe, is not available in the M6800 and that I value.

Other than that, what are the advantages of the M6800 over the M6700?

In particular, will SSDs and mSATA be faster?

    Thanks,

    Antonio

None really, other than more sata3 ports. Next generation should have fhd IPS/AHVA.

USB3.0 too. Now, all on the left and all on the right sides. Haswell has an advantage - AVX2, if your software cam utilize it.

Just found out from a guy selling a GTX 980M, and has a M6800, that the card will fit in our M6800 but the heat stink will not sit flush with the card. The heat sink needs to be modified before it will sit flush and you can start using the card. Seems to be the case when trying to install a Maxwell card with a Kepler card heat sink.

Trying to find out more info from him at the moment.

Gentlemen, since my eyes are really ready to fall out of their sockets after just about a day of work with M6800 and its Chi Mei panel, I am looking for alternative screens. Our mate has suggested that AUO B173HW01 v.4 should work fine, and people reported it to be a good panel on other machines too. Are there any other good panels for M6800? Surprisingly, this Chimei profiled nicely, but color shift / view angle / intrinsic white point / eye strain are pretty bad.
Coming from M6700 with its IPS RGB.
