So, I've read a few pages and it looks like swapping IPS RGBLED into M6800 is not possible. The situation is: Dell sent me a replacement M6800 for M6700. My M6700 still works, randomly failing on waking/powering up, but I simply can't stand the M6800 screen (not to mention I work in color-managed environment). Everything it offers on top of M6700 simply pales for me. Any ideas?

Other than external ips monitors none. Maybe ask for m4800 with 4k screen. It has better colour reproduction.

Why does my M6800 claim to have a AMD FirePro M6100 w/2GB video card and when I check DirectX Diagnostic Tool it shows AMD Radeon w/4GB card?
Also I am using a Dell EPort + dock with an external monitor and I switched the monitor setting the extend the desktop. Now randomly when I startup the monitor on the laptop does not come on. It's not to big of a problem when I am docked, but when I am using the laptop standalone I get no picture. The laptop still starts up, I can hear the startup sounds of Windows. I have to hard power down the laptop then restart it and the monitor will start working again.
    Any help would be appreciated!
    Thanks

Does pressing Windows+P to cycle through display modes restore the screen?

Thank you. I've checked all 3840x2160 laptops - they don't cover sRGB, let along aRGB, so I have no hope from M4800.

    Hello.
Yesterday I had purchased on e-bay an i7-4800MQ.My M6800 has an i7-4600 (2 core-4 threads). I know that I took some risk, but can someone confirm to me if I can upgrade to i7-4800MQ with the current heatsink? I hope that the CPU is not soldered directly on the motherboard? I need the quad core because I use my M6800 for engineering simulations which take advantage of the all cores, also I do some gaming. I am for now pleased with the FirePro M6100.
    Thank You.
    igor.

Hi, if anyone is interested in trying my Spyder 4 calibrated .icc profile for the M6800 you can email me: roryksr (at) gmail and I'll send it to you. I can't guarantee it will give you a perfect picture, but no harm in trying. I don't frequent the forum too much so my apologies to those who asked for the profile only to receive silence from me!

FWIW, my M6800 runs the AUO B173HW01 v.4 screen (1080p, glossy) no problems, just drops right in. This is still TN tech but 90% color gamut, decent refresh rates and improved angles. Still not IPS, but basically the same B+RGLED screen from the Dell XPS series.
