Thanks for the reply - I had m6700 and its IPS screen had eDP, but my new M6800 has LVDS. Will check out your link.

M6800 has room to stick something like that inside.

you can find the part numbers with descriptions using the service tag, which should also be on your receipt/order. it should have the keyword edp for the motherboard and panel.

CF0TC 1 ASSEMBLY, BASE (ASSEMBLY OR GROUP), NOTEBOOK, GRAY, USH, EDP, D17
    VVHJD 1 ASSEMBLY, COVER, HD+/FHD+NWIGI, EDP, D17
29JPY 1 LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY, 17.3FHD, WLED, EDP1.2, AG, INX

I.e. contrary to pics of MB I found, where eDP is simply not soldered on and only LVDS is present.

What I'm trying to figure out: if I have eDP, then I should be able to use interposer + RGB panel, unless there is no way to get it mechanically in or bios denies it. Screen cover for 6700 with two cables isn't that expensive, as the interposer itself.
