    Well, If the 970M works... I have no reason to believe the 980M wouldn't. Surely power wouldn't be an issue as the Quadro 4000M is basically a GTX 480M.
    I just purchased one to try this out.. Mine is coming with a Quadro 4000M, so I'd be curious too see what can be done. Otherwise I'll be using it with a GTX 1080 eGPU.

    Side thought, does anyone know if any of the Slice Batteries work with the M6600?

    Don't mean to double post, but I've been able to successfully Extract, Decompile, and read the M6600 A15 Firmware. I don't believe anyone else has every done this successfully..
    So far I can confirm there are overclocking options such as FLEX and Spread Spectrum, Turbo Limits, Power Limit Overrides, RAM overclocking and the lot. Things could get very fun around here. I'll keep you guys updated.

    @republicofsam

    The thing is that if you want to run anything newer than Fermi, you need to either edit DSDT table or have custom vBIOS. I've tried many cards based on Kepler and Maxwell and the result is not that promising. They were able to work only under the DOS and Windows XP.

    Seems like guys from Eurocom have custom made vBIOS. And that's good news since it can be shared buy someone in future.

    P.S. I've done the BIOS modding quite long time ago for M4600 and higher. Even have a workaround to hidden settings in my guide.

    Hello everyone,

    I have an M6600 with an i7-2820QM and a Quadro 4000m GPU. I recently bought a Dell version FirePro m6100 and am having issues getting it to function. When I swapped the GPUs, I got a black boot screen (not even to BIOS). I got it to boot to BIOS after pulling the CMOS battery and powering it on/off 4 times. I'm not sure if this is a driver issue. I got the drivers from Dell's website instead of AMD in case they were modified for the M6600. I have BIOS version A16.I did get it to show the Windows startup animation before it BSOD'd on me.

    Has anyone had a similar issue when upgrading to the M6100? I dug through this thread and several others but everyone's just saying it's plug and play.

    Sorry for making my first post a question, especially if it's already been answered, but I have yet to solve this problem. I can probably compensate someone if they can help me fix this.

    Thanks,

    Maybe you can find someone to mod your vBIOS and allow for overclocking as well
