M6600 Owners Thread

hello, I have a dell m6600 with a firepro m6100 that have recently died, I want to know if dell m6700 k5000 or k4000 4gb are fully compatible and if not how did you do that, and also want to upgrade i7 2640m to 2860qm but Im not sure if is possible, please help me

 

Hello, I think it will work. But you can buy new M6100 about 160 dolars from ebay. Price K5000m is 250 dolars and more for use. And about change your procesor it will 200% work I have 2920xm but TDP is 55W and sometimes hit 93 C. 2860QM has 45W, for me best procesor to M6600. Of corse you need heatsink with two heatpipes on CPU PN: TDK7R

 

thanks for the help, well I want nvidia because allow me to use optimus and in depend of what I found $$$ on ebay I will chose k4000 or k5000 , so about the cpu, I can make the upgrade of the cpu easily beacuse I already have two pipe heatsink on my dell m6600

 

I had a Nvidia Quadro k4000M, Nvidia GTX 680M, Nvidia Quadro K3000M and now I have GTX 675MX (Kepler) GPU. None of Kepler GPUs were stable with Optimus enabled. Only 1 time a have a luck to get it working after full windows reinstallation. BUUUT FPS in games was halved. For example in Diablo 3 - 30-35 FPS Optimus enabled, 60 FPS stable with optimus disabled. Maybe it's only in my case and you are going to have a better experience with Optimus.

 

Hello everyone. Could you please tell me how fast in games firepro m6100 in this laptop is? Can I play in modern games ( like battlefield 1, Witcher 3, for Honor and so on ) on medium/high settings. Does someone have such experience? Thank you.

I'm still playing on M6100. Witcher 3, Doom 3, BF3 (did not try BF1) run smoothly on medium on FHD, WOT, WoW can push High if you disable shadows and AA/AF. That card still has quite a kick.

 

Do you play on stock gpu or make some changes like a bios change or OC? What driver do you use?

hi, baii I looking for help , I have a dell m6600 and recently have a black screen with a 6100 firepro some tell guy how reviced de laptop said that the card get burn, so I decide to buy a k4000m and replaced the m6100 at the beginning steel on black screen but suddenly crash and star running with the k4000m and that was great but few minut after start windows there was a actualisation for the driver and inmediatly I get black screen again, went get work I could see into the bios and was detecte ass Nvidia corp , unknow vbios, and it said 4gb vram, so at this point I dont what to do, I reset the bios be the cmos battery I can see the dell logo and go into the bios but there is only intel hd as graphics after that when I get out there is only black screen with out dell logo I can see anything please help !!!!

 

Hi, can you help please, I want to upgrade dell m6600 to k4000m but went I put the card only appert black screen nothing else, went I put away the system work normally, the first time went I installed I get black screen some test after that and give imagin but went I was on windows system restar after a driver installation, I reset the system but alway appear just the black screen please help!
