Hi i have a problem with charging battery. I have original PSU 240W but in BIOS i see AC adapter Unknown. I changed adapter with 90W and 65W but it was same. Do you have any solution for this situation? Thanks for answer.

I'm not real certain about these things so I'm just throwing a couple ideas out there.

Is the 240W brick a Delta or a Flextronics brand?

What shape is your battery in, wear level?

Battery is normal in BIOS, but AC adapter is unknown and I think this is problem, why my battery cannot be charged.

I think your Power Supply is probably the problem. I have two Flextronics 240W and haven't had any trouble with them over three years. Some have had problems with the Delta Electronics (second white text from bottom in black background" which is what yours is.

I tested this adapter with D830 and E6420. I saw 240W in bios, but with M6600 each adapter is unknown (65W or 90W). Power jack cabel is ok. I tested and last to pins blue and black was 4.20V - 4.24V. Where is problem!? Could it be motherboard problem?

    Thanks for answer.

Hi, I would like to buy a second hand K4000m in ebay to replace the Quadro 4000m that smoked recently in my M6600.
Can someone advise me on the queries below:

    1. Did the Optimus still working in my M6600 when I replaced Quadro 4000m with K4000m ? I hear that the K4000m is kelper based and it design for Ivybridge. Does it work with the Sandy Bridge?
    2. Do I need to replace/modify the X bracket for the card ?
    3. Will the existing heat sink fits the new K4000m?
    4. Is there anything I need to worry about? (I m a newbie!!)

    Thanks

    1. It should, as geforce cards (680m and 670mx) worked nicely reported by other people
    2. Nop, what you have is perfect and will fit nicely
    3. Yes
    4. Just double check you used thermal pads of the right size on all the right places. Basicaly move em from q4m to q k4m to cover all the same bits and pieces.
