It will be the monitors native resolution. In my case, I have 2 Dell 24" U2410 (16:10) monitors. They run at 1920 x 1200 each., so 3840 x 1200 for my entire desktop. I could use the laptop screen as a 3rd monitor, but I keep the lid closed when docked.

I'm debating going to two 27" 2560X1440 monitors on my personal setup. I just don't know if I would really use it. I'm not really a gamer, and I don't write code, still, it might be nice for multi tasking

I'm thinking about upgrade my Dell M6600 with a Quadro K4000M, but I'm not sure about the compatibility. Has anyone successfully upgraded graphic card on M6600 to Nvidia Quadro K series?

It should work, but you might need to flash the vbios unless it's already a Dell card. If you get the same Quadro cards used in the M6700, those will probably be the most compatible.

I bought what appears to be a Quadro K5000M from eBay. It was actually advertised as a GTX 680M, shows up as a K3000M, but performs like a K5000M in specviewperf11 and 3dmark11. The display worked after I flashed it with a Dell GTX 680M vbios. So it might have been an ES/QS, but either way I'm satisfied with the performance.

Others have also managed to get a GTX 680M to work.

That resolution sounds like 16:9 aspect ratio screens. Personally, I can't see the benefit of the shortened screen height other then watching movies without any black bars. I rather have 16:10 ratio and have more screen and deal with the black bars if and when I watch a movie on my PC.

I just bought the Dell 24" U2412 for my wife's laptop when docked. It is a very nice monitor. IPS, and LED back light. I picked it up on sale at Newegg for $239.99. Two 24" is the way to go IMO. I had 30" monitors in the past, they were nice, but gaming at that native resolution is taxing on the video cards. 24" is the sweet spot for me.

yeah, they are 16:9. They have the Korean LG screen that's all the rage on the web right now. The same screen as used in the Apple monitors. They really are incredible IPS displays.

I hear ya on the 16:10 ratio, but with a 2560X1440 it's more real estate than a 1920x1200 resolution .

A 2560x1600..that's the way to go ,...when I mortgage the house I guess..
