I've had issues like this with that column of keys and D key and upward bow on several KB exchanges. Currently numpad enter key is really noisy. Try another, non-register is a problem.
The other computer has a most perfect KB and I've thought of swapping but if I get caught = doghouse.

Did it ship with a HDD, if so try removing it and see if that's it. Or could be a fan or worse an electrical noise. Try running diagnostics from the boot menu and see if it shows up there during each test.

Medium Dark Brown low gloss? Photoshop #171101 :) Just kidding, I don't know.

Disassemble completely, voiding your warranty in the process, take it to the paint shop and have it done in the color you want?

On a more serious note: I would call Dell and ask, maybe they'll tell you.

I saw some talk of this awhile back in M6700 thread. Those are the next platform names? When are they expected?
I'm going to have to wait at least a couple years before moving up again. While I'm asking, what is the IGP support on the M6600, 6 or 8 bit?

Yes. The M6600 uses a 3rd-part controller but I don't remember from which company though (either Marvell or ASMedia).

The USB board on the m6600 use a separate controller, but do the new dock have separate controller? The new dock work on m6600, but not sure if the port on the dock running on USB 3.0. That's the question right now ~~.

The system came with a SSD, however I am unaware of any SSDs making any high pitched noises like this. I ran diagnostics on this several times, and found no issues when I first received the laptop.

LOL...I was thinking of that. Something like a matte black, a nice blue or even a dark green would be nice :)

I was Dell certified, and I used to take apart laptops all the time, including this one so for me its no big deal. It just takes a bunch of time and patience.

I honestly don't think the customer reps would know the color, other than gunmetal.

I have seen complaints about some 830s squealing on NBR a while ago. I would see if you can get a RMA for the SSD or not.
